New Africa Fund opens $5,000 matching grant for NGOs

The New Africa Fund has opened applications for the 2025 cohort of the Africa Impact Fundraising Grant Programme. The initiative supports African NGOs, community-based organisations, and social enterprises seeking to strengthen their fundraising capacity, expand their impact and compete for matching grant support.

What’s on offer

Selected organisations will receive matching grants of up to $5,000, based on the funds they raise during a guided four-week fundraising challenge.

All participating organisations will also receive 12 months of free fiscal sponsorship from the New Africa Fund, with the possibility of extension. As the programme evolves, additional performance-based fundraising opportunities will be introduced.

Who can apply

The programme is open to:

  • Legally registered organisations in any African Union member state

  • NGOs

  • Community-Based Organisations (CBOs)

  • Social enterprises

Applicants must be based in Africa and serving African communities.

Requirements

Before applying, organisations should prepare the following documents for upload as PDFs:

  1. Registration document

  2. Most recent external audit

If no audit is available, applicants must upload five months of financial statements for all accounts.
