A new grant opportunity is open for organisations working to drive environmental and social change in the Cape Floristic Region, one of the world’s richest biodiversity hotspots.
The funding aims to support projects that connect community action with conservation, focusing on three core goals:
-
Restoring and protecting indigenous environments.
-
Upskilling under-resourced communities in the green economy.
-
Empowering youth and women through environmental education and awareness programmes.
Priority areas
Eligible projects should align with one or more of the following focus areas:
-
Biodiversity enhancement, such as habitat restoration, community clean-ups, or indigenous planting
-
Sustainable livelihood creation, including recycling initiatives, capacity building, and green skills training
-
Environmental education and awareness within under-resourced communities
Integrated proposals that effectively combine these areas are particularly encouraged.
