Are you a security expert or organisation with bold, innovative ideas for solving today’s global security challenges? The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) is now accepting submissions for the 2025 GCSP Prize for Innovation in Global Security.

This annual award recognises groundbreaking projects and initiatives that offer creative, impactful, and sustainable solutions to some of the world’s most pressing security issues.

Award Benefits

The first-place winner will receive a CHF 10,000 (roughly $11,000) cash prize in recognition of their exceptional contribution to global peace and security.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to individuals, groups, or organisations from both public and private sectors worldwide.

  • Projects must have a global focus, transcending national boundaries and addressing international security concerns in novel ways.

  • Submissions must offer innovative approaches to enhancing sustainable global security.

  • The award is part of the GCSP’s Programme for Geopolitics and Global Futures, under the Creativity and Innovation Initiative.

  • GCSP staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following materials in English:

  • A project abstract (maximum 250 words)

  • A detailed project description (maximum 750 words)

  • Description of the technical process (if applicable)

  • Budget estimate for the project

  • Explanation of the project’s novel contribution to global security

  • Overview of the short- and long-term impacts

  • Up to five image files (optional)

Applicants must submit in English a project abstract, a detailed project description, technical process description (if relevant), budget estimate, explanation of the project's novelty, impact overview, and up to five optional image files. Applications are to be submitted through GCSP's official online form by September 25, 2025.
