The Africa Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is inviting applications for its 2026–2027 Doctor of Public Health Scholarships Programme at the University of Toronto.

Benefits

This fully-funded scholarship targets aspiring public health leaders who are dedicated to making a difference in Africa. The scholarship covers all tuition costs, along with allowances for travel, housing, books and food. Successful applicants will also receive ample academic support system and orientation sessions to ensure a smooth transition into graduate life in Toronto,

Eligibility criteria

The scholarship is open to intending doctoral candidates that are committed to giving back to the African continent. To be considered for the award, applicants should:

  • Confirm their eligibility for the Doctor of Public Health programme at the University of Toronto.
  • Be committed to returning to their home country after completing their studies

Application process

Interested individuals are required to attend one of the mandatory virtual information sessions.

Following this, candidates can submit their application for the scholarship. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to proceed with a formal application to the Doctor of Public Health programme at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

Key dates

The initial scholarship application is due on October 10, 2025. Applicants who are approved will be notified by November 1, 2025, and will then have until November 21, 2025, to submit their application to the university. Visit the Africa Health Collaborative website to register.
