The Federal Ministry of Education, through the Federal Scholarship Board, or FSB, has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026/2027 Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan for Nigerian students.
It is an exclusively funded programme supporting Master’s and PhD education in the UK while offering academic development, career development, and access to a global network of scholars.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Academic Qualification:
- Master’s: At least First Class or Second Class Upper in the first degree.
- PhD: At least Second Class Lower, with additional requirements.
- NYSC requirements: Valid discharge or exemption certificate.
- University admission: Must secure at least two admissions from UK universities.
- PhD applicants: Must include a supporting statement from the UK host university.
- Application submission: Completed forms must be printed before online submission.
