The 2025 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition culminates in live on-stage pitches and an award ceremony at the GoGettaz Finals at the AFS Summit in Dakar, Senegal in September.
Prize Information
- Grand Prizes: Two grand prizes of $50,000 each will be awarded to the most promising and impactful female and male agripreneur-led businesses.
- Impact Awards: An additional $60,000 in Impact Awards will recognize businesses excelling in key areas such as:
- Technology & Innovation
- Nutrition & Food Security
- Rural Livelihoods & Climate Resilience
- Gender Equity & Natural Resource Conservation
- Job Creation
Costs Covered
- Finalists are required to ensure they have all necessary valid travel documentation at their own cost. However, costs relating to travel and, where applicable, visa costs to attend the AFSF Summit may be covered by GoGettaz, subject to funding availability.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Entrepreneur:
- Entrepreneur is aged 35 or below on the date of submission to the competition, and is legally recognised as an adult in country of nationality
- Entrepreneur holds nationality (with an official ID) from a country which is a member of the African Union
- Entrepreneur is the founder/co-founder of the venture he/she represents in the competition and plays an active role in its operations and leadership
- Entrepreneur has no criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, felony, or other offence, and will provide a signed declaration to that effect, if requested
- The Venture:
- Venture is already legally registered in a country which is a member of the African Union or will have commenced with the registration of such a legal entity prior to 10 June 2025
- Venture is headquartered in a country which is a member of the African Union
- Venture is designed to be financially sustainable, either as a for-profit business or a non-profit generating some revenue and aiming not to be dependent on donor funding
- Venture plays a role in the agrifood sector and/or supports the development of the agrifood sector through an innovation or process improvement.The agrifood sector may be defined as businesses engaged in agrifood research & development; primary food production (farming); crop nutrition; irrigation; mechanisation, automation, or robotics, including drones; crop protection; hydroponics or urban farming; and transport, distribution, storage, or logistics.
Others are food processing; packaging or marketing; food retail or service; waste management or recycling; digital or technology solutions/services to the agrifood sector; innovative finance solutions/services to the agrifood sector; and renewable energy or environmental solutions/services to the agrifood sector.

Language Requirements
- Currently, only English and French are supported. Successful applicants who make it to the finals must be able to present their business and answer questions in either English or French. As GoGettaz grows into the future, we hope to add more regional competitions with regional language support.

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2025 is open for applications, targeting agrifood businesses aiming to enhance their operations. Eligible participants must be 35 or younger, African Union citizens, and active founders or co-founders of legally registered businesses within the agrifood sector. Ventures should focus on financial sustainability and contributions to agrifood through innovations or improvements. Participants must cover their document costs, though travel and visa expenses may be funded when available. The competition supports presenters in English and French, with future plans to expand language support. The application deadline is June 10, 2025.
