The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is currently accepting applications for its Career Development Grants, aiming to advance gender equity in education and workplaces.
This program provides up to $8,000 to support women pursuing certificate, credential, or training programs needed to enter, transition into, or advance within high-demand STEM fields where they are currently underrepresented.
The grants specifically fund short-term, accredited programs that contribute to closing the gender gap in STEM professions. AAUW especially seeks to fund programs in emerging tech and science-driven industries that promise tangible employment outcomes or career advancement within 6-12 months.
Who Can Apply?
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who identify as women, hold a bachelor’s degree, and be accepted or enrolled in an eligible program with at least 400 instructional hours.
- Women already employed in high-growth STEM fields are also encouraged to apply for executive leadership or management training to move into decision-making roles.
The program looks for individuals who can demonstrate a clear path toward or within a STEM career and a commitment to helping other women and girls through community or professional service.
Grant funds can cover tuition, fees, required course materials, transportation assistance, and dependent care, directly supporting participants’ educational journeys.
Important dates
- Applications are reviewed on a competitive, rolling basis, meaning they are considered during the next available review round once submitted.
- There are three distinct closing dates for applications: September 30, 2025; December 31, 2025; and March 31, 2026.
- Interested candidates should submit their complete applications as early as possible through the AAUW Fellowships & Grants Application Portal to maximize their chances.
