The Prince Claus Fund, in partnership with the British Council, is inviting applications for the third cycle of the Moving Narratives programme. This initiative supports artists and cultural practitioners exploring history and memory to challenge dominant perspectives.
The 2025 theme, “Imagining a Different Future,” particularly welcomes projects that explore future possibilities at the intersection of the past and the present.
Programme structure and benefits
This is a hybrid programme that combines virtual activities with in-person collaboration. Successful applicants will receive a €10,000 award to create their proposed cultural production in addition to mentorship, peer-learning opportunities and in-person labs.
The final lab will take place in Cape Town, South Africa.
Who can apply
The programme is designed primarily for individual artists and cultural practitioners, not organiations or groups. To be eligible, applicants should:
- Be artists or cultural practitioners.
- Have 5-10 years of professional experience.
- Be from, and based in, one of the eligible countries listed in the call.
How to apply
To be considered for review, applicants are required to propose a cultural project and how it aligns with the overarching theme of rethinking history and imagining new futures.
Projects will be selected based on their relevance and the applicant’s experience. Applications must be submitted through the official Prince Claus Awards online platform.
Applications are due on 9 October 2025.
