BenueAID is now accepting applications for its Discretionary Grant programme aimed at supporting rapid humanitarian interventions in Benue State.

Registered non-governmental organisations (NGOs) operating in Nigeria are invited to apply for funding to implement short-term, high-impact projects that address urgent humanitarian needs.

These grants are designed to be flexible and quickly deployed to assist individuals and communities affected by crises or other critical situations as determined by BenueAID’s Board of Directors.

Purpose of the Grant

The Discretionary Grants programme enables BenueAID to respond swiftly to pressing needs that may arise outside the regular grantmaking cycles, such as between board meetings or before/after the annual call for concept notes.

Priority Areas

Projects must align with one or more of BenueAID’s thematic priorities:

  • Good Health and Well-being

  • Good Governance and Social Development

  • Media for Development (M4D)

  • Criminal Justice

  • Education and Skill Development

  • Environmental Sustainability and Agriculture

  • Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

  • Humanitarian Response

  • Capacity Building Series

Eligibility of Projects

To be considered for funding, proposed projects must:

  • Align with at least one of the priority focus areas

  • Clearly define the problem, proposed solution, and target beneficiaries

  • Be rapid or short-term in nature with measurable, community-level impacts

  • Have a total budget of less than $3,000

  • Advance the mission and values of BenueAID

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a not-for-profit organisation legally registered and operating in Nigeria for at least two years

  • Demonstrate verifiable experience in one or more of the priority areas

  • Be willing to adhere to BenueAID’s internal review and compliance procedures
