The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) has opened nominations for its 2026 Courage in Journalism Awards, which honour women and nonbinary journalists demonstrating exceptional bravery and integrity in their work.
This global award celebrates journalists who continue telling critical stories despite threats, censorship, or violence.
Honourees often work in some of the world’s most challenging environments, covering war, corruption, human rights abuses, and social injustice while maintaining fairness and courage.
The aim is to recognise truth-tellers who embody resilience and inspire others to defend press freedom.
