Calling on Nigerian teachers to apply for FG’s free technical training programme

The Federal Ministry of Education is calling on interested teachers to apply for the 2025/2026 Technical Teachers Training Programme.

The programme is expected to improve the quality of teaching in technical fields, preparing students for 21st-century industry needs and ensuring Nigeria’s workforce remains competitive globally.

The PGDE will cover fields such as technical education, vocational education, building technology education, and business education.

Others are home economics and hospitality, agricultural education, automobile, computer science education, and electrical/electronics.

The pilot cohort will be implemented in partnership with six universities: Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Federal University of Technology, Minna; University of Benin; Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi; and Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.

The TTTP is a tuition-free one-year postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) aimed at upgrading the skills of secondary school teachers handling technical and vocational subjects across Nigeria.

You must be a graduate with teaching  experience, and you must provide three referees

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of technical education in Nigeria by equipping teachers with the skills needed to prepare students for modern industry challenges.

The tuition-free postgraduate diploma in education (PGDE) will cover various fields including technical, vocational, building technology, business, home economics and hospitality, agricultural, automobile, computer science, and electrical/electronics education.

The program will be implemented in collaboration with six universities: Ahmadu Bello University, University of Nigeria, Federal University of Technology Minna, University of Benin, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, and Adeyemi Federal University of Education.

Qualified applicants must be graduates with teaching experience and provide three referees. Interested teachers must submit their applications online by July 21, 2025.
