The Pure Ocean Foundation is inviting researchers and innovators from around the world to submit proposals for projects aimed at protecting the ocean. This call for projects seeks to support ambitious, science-based initiatives that can make a real difference for marine biodiversity and fragile ecosystems.
Aims and benefits
Specifically, the fund will support applied-science projects that increase general understanding of the ocean and contribute directly to its conservation. Selected projects will receive up to €40,000 per year (an average of €30,000/year) for a duration of one to two years, at the discretion of the Scientific Committee. A two-year project can receive a maximum of €80,000, and support for certain projects may be renewed.

This global call is open to a wide range of applicants, provided they have a strong, innovative proposal and meet specific requirements:
- Project leaders must hold a PhD.
- Applicants can be from universities, research institutes, non-profits, or private for-profit companies.
- The host institution must have a bank account to receive funding.
Application process
The application is a two-stage process. The first step requires applicants to outline their project’s summary, objectives, innovation, and budget.
