The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of applications for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC 46/2025). The recruitment exercise is open to qualified Nigerian citizens interested in serving as Airmen or Airwomen.

Eligibility criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

Be Nigerian citizens by birth.
Be between 18 and 22 years old for trades and non-trades positions at the time of application.
Meet the minimum height requirements of 1.66m for males and 1.63m for females.
Be physically, mentally and medically fit, with no criminal record.

Academic and trade qualifications

Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB examinations.

For tradesmen and women, additional qualifications such as ND, NCE, RN/RM, or City & Guilds certificates are accepted, alongside at least two passes in relevant trade subjects. Candidates must also present testimonials and trade test certificates where applicable.

Application process

Applicants are required to complete the online form and print the following documents upon submission:

Local Government Area Attestation Form, which must be signed by a recognised authority such as a military officer, police officer, magistrate, or local government chairman.

The attestation form must include a passport-size photograph and a valid identity card of the officer endorsing the application. Only valid online applications will be processed.

Selection process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a zonal enlistment exercise, which includes an aptitude test, interviews, and medical examinations. Details on dates and venues will be announced via the NAF recruitment portal and official social media handles.
