The South Africa–Cuba Biotechnology Collaboration Call invites South African entities to partner with Cuban organisations in developing, transferring, and commercialising cutting-edge biotechnology products.
Jointly launched by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) in Pretoria and BioCubaFarma in Havana, the initiative aims to accelerate the joint development and global commercial launch of biotech innovations.
Building on a framework agreement signed in July 2025, the collaboration focuses on bringing biotechnological solutions from both nations to international markets. It also prioritises the transfer of Cuban technologies and joint research targeting neurodegenerative diseases, lung cancer, and other critical health conditions.
