EnergyLab has officially opened applications for its Scaleup Programme, inviting fast-growing clean energy startups dedicated to decarbonising the energy sector.

The programme is designed to accelerate the rollout of technologies that transform how energy is produced, stored and consumed.

With a strong emphasis on industry engagement, investment readiness and market expansion, the goal is clear: to help climate-positive technologies scale faster, achieve commercial adoption, and accelerate the global energy transition.

Programme value

While the programme does not provide direct capital, selected startups receive:

  • High-level introductions to industry decision-makers.

  • Investor exposure and feedback to prepare for funding rounds.

  • Strategic guidance on technical development and market entry.

  • Public visibility to showcase their work to a wider audience.

Upon completion, graduates join the EnergyLab alumni network, maintaining lifelong connections to partners, mentors and investors.

Startups are encouraged to apply if they:

  • Develop solutions for clean energy or decarbonisation.

  • Are ready for market scale-up and industry pilots.

  • Are seeking investment, partnerships or deployment pathways.

  • Aim to operate within Australia or New Zealand.

  • Possess technology capable of driving a real-world energy transition.

Requirements

This programme is suited for growth-ready companies. Applicants must demonstrate a clear product, a working prototype or active commercial development.

Key selection criteria include a robust plan for scaling, potential for industry collaboration, and direct relevance to the energy transition. Teams must also show the capacity to actively engage with mentors and investors throughout the programme.
