The National Geographic Society is now calling for applications from people who want to work on projects that help solve the problems caused by extreme weather and natural hazards.
This extreme weather and natural hazards solutions grant tackles problems such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, floods, heatwaves, and severe storms.
The aim of this grant is simple: to help people and nature adapt better to these dangerous events. The goal is to find and support ideas that make communities stronger, safer, and more prepared when bad weather strikes.
Focus areas
- Data collection for better predictions
- Protecting and restoring nature to make it stronger against disasters
- Using new technology like artificial intelligence or drones to improve responses
- Creating local strategies that help communities prepare, respond, and recover.
