Funding and other benefits

  • Each selected grantee will receive $8,000, disbursed in a single payment, to support their publication efforts.

  • Applicants must identify as a woman, hold a doctorate or equivalent professional degree
  • Applicants must also be U.S. citizen or permanent resident, serving as the sole, first, or equivalent author on their publication.
  • AAUW especially welcomes applications from individuals demonstrating scholarly excellence, a commitment to helping women and girls, or those who were first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree.
