The Orange Corners Designs South Africa programme is seeking applications from aspiring creative entrepreneurs. Backed by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by the Craft and Design Institute (CDI), the initiative aims to help young designers develop their business ideas and, ultimately, bolster the country’s design sector.
What’s on offer
Participants will receive comprehensive support, such as valuable coaching and masterclasses, including access to a vibrant global network of over 3,000 Orange Corners alumni. Furthermore, the most promising businesses will have the chance to apply for a growth loan of up to €50,000 with favourable terms from the Orange Corners Innovation Fund.
Who can apply
Interested entrepreneurs should consider the following criteria.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- They should be a South African citizen or a permanent resident.
- They should reside in or near Cape Town or Johannesburg.
- Their businesses should be registered, tax-compliant, and at least 51% youth-owned.
- The businesses should operate within the design sector and be in the start-up phase, meaning it has been operational for 0-3 years.
- Applicants must not have previously participated in the Orange Corners South Africa incubation programme.
