The APEC Student Demonstration Competition enables students to showcase their innovative research in power electronics and related fields.
The aim of the competition is to promote innovation, creativity, and practical application of power electronics, inspiring students to develop solutions that can make a real-world impact.
Funding details
Selected teams will receive a $500 travel grant to support their participation in the competition.
The top three teams will be recognised with certificates and cash prizes: $1,000 for 1st place, $600 for 2nd place and $400 for 3rd place.
Winners will also get global recognition and exposure through APEC’s social media channels.
Who can apply?
- Student teams from universities worldwide, with up to three students per team
- Teams must be enrolled in a power electronics program or related field
- Originality and creativity of the project will be evaluated
- Engineering design and practical impact of the project will be assessed
- Presentation quality and audience engagement will be considered
How to apply?
To apply, teams should submit a proposal through the online registration form, which will be available from October 27, 2025.
The proposal should demonstrate the team’s innovative research in power electronics and related fields.
Teams are encouraged to present hardware prototypes, complemented by posters, slides or videos.
Selection criteria
The selection process involves evaluating proposals based on originality, creativity, engineering design, practical impact, presentation quality and audience engagement.
A panel of experts from both industry and academia will judge the demonstrations.
Shortlisted teams will be notified by December 15, 2025.
