The Amplitude Fellowship 2026 is now officially seeking applications from outstanding PhD candidates, post-docs, and MDs ready to transition from the lab to the boardroom.

This highly selective program targets scientific minds who want to stay rooted in health and life sciences while exploring their creative potential as entrepreneurs.

Participants will step away from traditional academia to discover how intriguing scientific observations can be transformed into broad platforms with lasting impacts on human health.

By challenging their perspectives, fellows are encouraged to generate “big ideas” that address the most pressing needs in modern healthcare.

Working at the cutting edge of biotech, fellows will collaborate directly with leaders from the Amplitude Ventures fund and their biotech venture creation studio, Pre-Amp. This partnership allows fellows to conduct a series of in-depth, one-month explorations to identify and validate hypotheses for groundbreaking new companies.

The program immerses participants in the front end of a specialized three-phase company creation model.

Benefits

The fellowship is designed as a full-time commitment that runs throughout the summer, starting in late May and concluding at the end of August. This timeline allows for an intensive, immersive experience without the distractions of a typical academic semester.

In addition to gaining world-class entrepreneurial experience, all selected participants will hold a paid position.

Application requirements

Prospective fellows must hold or be currently completing a PhD, postdoc, or MD with a research focus specifically in the life sciences or healthcare.

Applicants should be within one year of completing their academic training or otherwise ready for immediate employment.

The selection committee is searching for self-starters who demonstrate academic excellence and a deep scientific or business background.

Candidates must possess the creativity and analytical skills necessary to solve complex problems at the intersection of science and commerce.

Due to the location and nature of the program, all applicants are required to have valid Canadian work authorization. This ensures that fellows are legally eligible to participate in the full-time, paid requirements of the summer session.

Deadline

The Amplitude Fellowship remains a highly competitive opportunity for those looking to disrupt the healthcare industry. Interested innovators must ensure their applications are submitted no later than January 31, 2026. Click here to apply. Explore more global calls on our Opportunities page
