The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) is calling for proposals that support initiatives promoting socio-economic inclusion, transformative leadership, and gender equality across Africa.
Projects should focus on empowering women and youth in politics, business, and communities, including gender-based violence prevention and advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
This initiative seeks to strengthen leadership among youth and women in a bid to achieve gender equality while advancing inclusive socio-economic development.
By funding practical, community-driven projects, AUDA-NEPAD encourages measurable impact and sustainable change across the continent.
Funding and benefits of the gender equality and youth empowerment proposal call
A total indicative amount of $1,962,000 has been allocated. Each participating Regional Economic Community (REC) may receive up to $392,400 over 24 months, with individual grants ranging from $0 to $130,800 per participant.
Funding supports projects aligned with the program’s objectives and scale.

- Legally registered civil society organizations (CSOs) in AU member states
- Women-led or youth-led enterprises, associations, communities, or cooperatives
- Institutions supporting youth and promoting gender equality and socio-economic development

Application requirements
Porposals must:
- Reflect the scope and 24-month duration of planned activities
- Align with the programme’s objectives for gender equality, youth empowerment, and socio-economic inclusion
- Present clear budgets, work plans, and measurable outcomes
