Grants for abortion research in Africa now open

Early career researchers are invited to send applications for the Africa Coalition for Research & Communication on Abortion (ACORCA).

The small grant programme will support projects that advance abortion research in Africa.

The grant amount is up to $3,500 USD over 4 months. Each grantee will be paired with an ACORCA advisor, in addition to their home institution supervisor.

Besides, grant recipients will benefit from webinars, toolkits, writing workshops, and peer reviews.

The grant can be used to cover Data collection & travel, software subscriptions, secondary data access, and report writing

Who qualifies?

Qualified candidates include early-career PhD researchers and current PhD candidates at the dissertation stage.

But candidates must have affiliation with African universities or research institutes, and the research must focus on abortion in Africa

  • Letter of support from supervisor
  • Proof of PhD completion or candidacy
  • Show budget summary
