Applications are now open for the 2026 Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship, a prestigious award supporting women advancing careers in aerospace engineering and space sciences.

Named after legendary aviator Amelia Earhart, the fellowship is designed to close the gender gap in the aerospace field and encourage more women to pursue leadership in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Since its establishment in 1938, the program has awarded fellowships to more than 1,700 women from 77 countries, helping them break new ground in science and aviation. The fellowship is funded through generous contributions to the Zonta Foundation for Women.

Who Can Apply

  • Open to women of any nationality.

  • Must be enrolled in or applying to a PhD/doctoral programme in aerospace engineering or space sciences.

  • Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance.

  • Candidates must be registered in a full-time PhD programme by April 15, 2026.
