The United State government has announced delegates that will attend the inauguration of Nigeria’s new president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu is billed to be sworn in as Nigeria’s 16th democratically elected president on Monday, May 27, 2023, in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
Joe Biden, the United States President announced on Monday the appointment of a Presidential Delegation to attend the inauguration of Nigerian President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29, 2023, in Abuja, Nigeria.
The delegation from the United States will include Maria L. Fudge, the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, who will be leading the delegation.
Others include Mr David Greene, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., U.S. Embassy Abuja; Honorable Sydney Kamlager-Dove, United States Representative, California; Honorable Marisa Lago, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, U.S. Department of Commerce; General Michael E. Langley, Commander of U.S. Africa Command; Honorable Enoh T. Ebong, Director, U.S. Trade and Development Agency.
Also on the delegation are; Honorable Mary Catherine Phee, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of African Affairs, U.S. Department of State; Honorable Judd Devermont, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for African Affairs, National Security Council and Honorable Monde Muyangwa, Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Africa, U.S. Agency for International Development.
Past presidents, diplomats, heads of international organizations and representatives of foreign governments and agencies are also expected to be at the event.
