A six-month-old baby, the mother, and two others have been kidnapped during an attack at the Zone 5 segment of the Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory of the nation’s capital on Sunday night.

The arm welding men were said to have struck between 8:pm and 9:pm on Sunday when they shot sporadically and caused panic in the area which is just a few kilometres away from the National Youth Service Corps or NYSC orientation camp.

Speaking to Punch Newspaper over the development, a resident who preferred not to be named revealed that kidnapping has become a usual occurrence in the area every yuletide season.

The resident said: “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December. If you remember very well, last December, The PUNCH reported a similar incident of abduction in the area, now this is another one, and it is worrisome.”

Another resident noted: “This kidnapping is due to inadequate security in the area. Last night they kidnapped a whole family – a mother and her three children, including a six-month-old baby here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate.”

The FCT Police Command has yet to make an official comment concerning the development as of press time.
