Police nab motorcyclist for allegedly raping passenger in Delta

A 34-year-old motorcyclist, alleged to have raped a passenger he was to take somewhere, has been arrested by the police.  

Bright Edafe, the Police Public  Relations Officer in Delta State who disclosed this on Twitter, said the incident “happened on 28 February in Asaba” and that “the victim had arrived at Asaba at night from Benin, Edo State, and got on Mr Musa’s” bike to take her to her destination,” instead she was cornered to the bush and raped.

Edafe added that the suspect, Abdullahi Musa, upon discovery that the victim was on her period, forcefully penetrated her anus. 

In a video the police spokesperson posted, the suspect is heard confessing to the crime. Musa also admitted to stealing some of her valuables after he had raped her. 

The police spokespersons advised Nigerians to be watchful and vigilant as they move about and committed to the diligent prosecution of the matter. 

 

A 34-year-old motorcyclist, Abdullahi Musa, has been arrested in Delta State for allegedly raping a 24-year-old female passenger he was supposed to take to her destination. The victim, who had arrived in Asaba from Benin at night on February 28, was taken to the bush and raped.

Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer in Delta State, disclosed the details, including that Musa penetrated the victim anally upon discovering she was menstruating. After the assault, Musa also stole some of her valuables.

A video posted by Edafe on Twitter features Musa confessing to the crime. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and have committed to diligently prosecuting the matter.
