IGP commends female police fighter over victory in EFC

Alkali Baba the Inspector-General of Police or IGP has commended PC Juliet Ukah, a Combat Athlete of the Nigeria Police Force, following a successful professional training tour, during which she fought and won South Africa’s Crystal Van Wyk who until the bout was undefeated in Extreme Fighting Championship, EFC 102.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Alkali Baba showered encomiums on the young officer.

The three-round bout which took place on Thursday, April 13 in Johannesburg, South Africa, showed Juliet pulling an all-around superiority to emerge the winner. (30-26, 30-26, 30-27).

Juliet also went on to defeat Clodia Vochung Shivabo (IMBGIM FC) of Cameroun on Saturday 22nd April.

PC Ukah is one of two Police Female MMA Fighters recently released by IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, for a 6-Week Professional Training Tour in Thailand.

The statement noted that the talented Constable who was recruited into the Police Force in 2018, has continued to show tremendous skills and passion for excellence over the years.

Juliet has gone ahead since then, conquering Boxing, Kickboxing, and now, MMA Nigeria and Africa Champion.

With the current feat, PC Ukah, who now has an unbeaten streak after 4 Professional Fights (4 wins – 0 loss – 0 draw), is the African EFC Champion and the No. 1 Contender for the World EFC Female Straw Weight Title Belt.

The IGP commended the officer for making the Nigeria Police Force, and by extension, the nation proud, and further promised to continually discover and showcase new talents in the Police.

He also boasted that the height shows the contributions of the Nigeria Police Force to sports development in the country.

Baba praised Ukah for making the Nigeria Police Force and the nation proud and emphasized the Police's role in sports development. The IGP also promised ongoing efforts to discover and support new talents within the Police Force.
