On Tuesday, many Nigerians took to social media to express their disappointment after Air Peace cancelled its flights from Abuja to Lagos and Port Harcourt just a few hours to kick off.
Joe Abah, a public sector reform expert and one of the aggrieved passengers, said the news of their flight cancellation affected people travelling for professional examinations. He said one of the passengers had waited 10 years before having another opportunity to write the exams.
“This was the scene at the Air Peace counter this morning. Flight to Port Harcourt cancelled. People going for professional exams. One guy said he had waited 10 years to take the exams. The guy says there is no other flight to Port Harcourt today. Sad.”
Abah also noted that he woke up at 4:00 am to prepare for his flight scheduled for 6:30 am, only to see a message on his phone that the flight had been cancelled.
“Needed to be in Lagos by 9 am. Checked in online yesterday and had the driver sleepover in the house. Up at 4am to get ready for my 6:30 am flight, only to see a 1:52 am message that my flight had been “re-accommodated.” Too ashamed to tell anyone that I bought @flyairpeace again!”
Reacting, Ebullient EMEKAH said, “This is a problem… If things were working as they should, why would one be having hard time with services they PAID FOR? Na only for naija we dey pray for irrelevant things, even God don archive all the prayers, like; please God, let there be light, let this ATM pay etc.”
In another development, a video post by Higeemedia, another Twitter user on Monday, showed a lady gasping for air for lack of an Air conditioner or AC in an Air Peace craft.
“How AC no go dey inside plane ? Airpeace no dey try at all ?” the handler said.
While many passengers were stranded, Abah said he went to the Customer Care unit to recover his money and boarded Ibom Air to his destination. He alleged this was not the first time he witnessed such disappointment with Air Peace.
On Tuesday, numerous Nigerians voiced their frustration on social media after Air Peace canceled its flights from Abuja to Lagos and Port Harcourt with only a few hours' notice, affecting passengers, including those with professional examinations.

Abah ultimately booked a flight with Ibom Air after seeking a refund from Air Peace, asserting this was not his first disappointment with the airline.
