Hoodlums destroy ballot boxes in Kano as voters resist thugs In Lagos

Violence has overtaken some parts of Kano State, as at least 10 ballot boxes have been damaged across several polling units in the Rimin Gado Local Government Area. 

Prime Progress’ correspondent gathered that people were observing their civic rights peacefully before violent thugs disrupted the process, forcing voters to flee. 

Some wards and polling units where the incident happened include Dugurawa, Jujin Kosau, Jili, Yelwa, and Kongi.

The officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) who left the locations for the state’s INEC office said they narrowly escaped from the places.

Meanwhile, in some parts of Lagos, voters are standing up to thugs who have been terrorising and suppressing voters since voting started in the morning 

Violence has erupted in parts of Kano State, Nigeria, with at least 10 ballot boxes damaged in several polling units within the Rimin Gado Local Government Area. The disruption occurred when violent thugs invaded peaceful voting, causing voters to flee.

The affected wards and polling units include Dugurawa, Jujin Kosau, Jili, Yelwa, and Kongi. Officials from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) reported narrowly escaping the violence and have since relocated to the state's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office.

In contrast, some areas of Lagos have seen voters resisting thugs attempting to intimidate and suppress them since the start of voting.
