After much controversies surrounding the Adamawa State governorship election, Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party or PDP has emerged winner with 430,869 votes, beating Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress or APC, who scored 398,788 votes.
The declaration was made by Mohammed Male, the returning officer, in company of Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee; and Adamu Gujungu, INEC’s Administrative Secretary in the state.
Fintiri emerged winner with a vote difference of 32,081. The supplementary votes of April 15, were merged with the results of the main election of March 18, to reach the final declaration.
In the supplementary election, PDP polled 9,337 votes, to defeat APC’s Binani who scored 6,513 votes in the election that saw a total of 869,106 votes.
