The Anna Lindh Foundation is calling on young pioneers across the Euro-Mediterranean region to lead the charge for social change through its “Transformative Youth in Action” initiative.

Part of the broader Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) program, this call seeks to empower grassroots leaders to turn their visions for community improvement into tangible reality.

The program focuses on bridging cultural divides and fostering inclusion by supporting community-led solutions that address pressing local needs.

Selected participants will act as local “prototypes,” demonstrating how small-scale actions can create a broader regional impact across the Mediterranean.

Funding and benefits

Successful applicants stand to receive significant financial support, with grants of up to 8,000 euros available to implement their community-based initiatives.

These funds are intended to help young leaders scale their impact while building lasting alliances with local entities.

Beyond direct funding, the program offers comprehensive capacity building, including an expert-led online training program focused on project management and leadership.

Participants will also attend an in-person kick-off meeting in a Euro-Med country to network with peers and refine their project methodologies through collective review.

Application requirements and eligibility

To be eligible, candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old and hold nationality in one of the 43 Anna Lindh Foundation Member States.

Additionally, applicants must be affiliated with a youth-led or youth-oriented community organization and propose an initiative to be implemented within the eligible region.

The application process requires the submission of a concise, 500-word outline detailing a transformative local initiative.

Proposals should clearly highlight how the project addresses specific community needs, promotes intercultural dialogue, and encourages diversity and inclusivity.

A selection committee will evaluate proposals based on their feasibility, innovation, and potential for measurable impact.

While the process is highly competitive, the foundation is committed to ensuring gender and geographical balance to foster a diverse and equitable community of change-makers.

Deadline

Interested leaders must submit their applications via the official online portal by 23 May 2026, at 23:59 CET.

For those seeking more information, an online informational session is scheduled for 5 May 2026 to assist prospective applicants with questions regarding the program requirements.
