Youth4Jobs and NotJustArt have officially opened applications for the 5th Edition of the Global Ability Photography Challenge, a global movement celebrating the artistic lens of persons with disabilities.

This initiative seeks to redefine ability by showcasing unique stories of resilience and creative excellence from across the world.

Funding and benefits

Participants compete for a significant award pool totaling ₹17,00,000.

The top winner will receive a grand prize of ₹5,00,000, while the second and third-place photographers will be awarded ₹3,00,000 and ₹2,00,000 respectively.

In addition to cash prizes, the top ten finalists will receive specially designed trophies by Michael Foley, and the top 20 will have their work showcased in a special exhibition.

Selected Indian and international winners will also receive fully sponsored travel and stay for the official award ceremony on June 24, 2026.

Application requirements and eligibility

Entry to the competition is completely free and exclusively open to persons with disabilities of all photography experience levels.

Applicants are invited to submit their three best original photographs that reflect their personal perspective and unique understanding of the world.

Technical specifications require submissions to be JPEG files in RGB format, with a minimum file size of 4MB and dimensions not exceeding 2000 pixels on the longest side.

Importantly, images must not contain any watermarks or identifying marks to ensure a fair judging process.

While the challenge has no specific theme, organizers encourage works that capture themes of dignity, hope, and inclusion.

All entrants must be the sole authors of their photographs and are responsible for securing necessary permissions from any individuals depicted in their work.

Deadline

Aspiring participants must submit their entries through the official NotJustArt website or designated digital forms before the final cutoff.

The window for all submissions strictly closes on May 25, 2026.

This year’s challenge builds on a legacy that has reached 8 million people and inspired 50,000 lives across more than 30 countries.

By participating, artists help transform society’s perception of disability, moving from a focus on limitations to a celebration of specialized talent.
