The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) has opened its latest grant cycle, inviting scientists worldwide to pioneer new breakthroughs in gynecologic cancer research.
This year, the organization is placing a heavy emphasis on technology through its “AI Accelerator Grant,” a partnership designed to personalize patient care.
Researchers are encouraged to submit proposals that harness data science to solve the complexities of ovarian cancer.
The initiative represents a fundamentally new way for research to work, aiming to accelerate discovery across the field.
Funding and benefits
Selected projects for the Collaborative Research Development Grant – AI can receive up to $900,000 in monetary support distributed over a three-year period.
In addition to direct funding, recipients will gain access to advanced Microsoft Azure cloud computing and expertise from the Microsoft AI for Good Lab.
Grants also allow for 10% indirect costs and up to $2,000 annually for travel related to the research.
This comprehensive support package is designed to provide investigators with the tools necessary to maintain a singular focus on scientific discovery.
Application requirements and eligibility
The call is open to accredited non-profit universities, research hospitals, and recognized scientific facilities across the globe.
While OCRA welcomes international applicants, for-profit entities and consulting companies are strictly ineligible for these awards.
Prospective applicants must submit their Letters of Intent (LOI) through SmartSimple, the organization’s dedicated grant management system.
Applicants should note that formatting must follow NIH guidelines, including a minimum font size of 11 points and half-inch margins.
Deadline
The window for the initial Letter of Intent for the AI Accelerator Grant closes on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 5:00 pm ET.
OCRA has explicitly stated that no extensions or late submissions will be permitted, making timely filing essential for consideration.
Following the LOI review, a subset of researchers will be invited in August to submit full proposals.
Those selected for funding can expect notifications by mid-November 2026, with research activities slated to begin the following year.
