The annual COPIC AWARD has officially opened its 2026 call for entries, inviting creators from across the globe to showcase their artistic talents.
This international platform serves to connect the Copic community and inspire a collective creative experience through diverse artistic genres.
Funding and benefits
The competition offers a range of high-value prizes, headlined by a Grand Prize that includes $1,500 in cash and an extensive collection of professional art supplies.
The top winner will also receive a full set of 358 Copic Sketch markers, a commemorative trophy, and a certificate of achievement.
In addition to materials and cash, the Grand Prize winner may be invited to complete paid art commissions for the brand’s official website and catalogs.
Other notable awards include $1,000 for Second Place winners and specialized prizes for the “Future Generation” of artists who are under 19 years of age.
Application requirements and eligibility
Participation is open to any individual artist regardless of age, nationality, or professional background.
However, the contest only accepts submissions from individual artists rather than groups or collectives.
All entries must be original works created primarily using Copic products, such as markers or Multiliner pens.
To protect creative integrity and intellectual property, the organizers have stated that AI-generated content will not be accepted for the competition.
Artworks must adhere to strict size limits, fitting within a maximum of 420mm x 297mm x 300mm and weighing no more than 5kg.
While three-dimensional works are welcome, the use of fragile materials like glass or ceramic is prohibited to ensure safe transportation during the final judging phase.
Deadline
The submission window is currently open and will remain active until June 30, 2026, at 23:59 (JST).
Artists must register their details and upload three high-quality JPEG images of their single entry through the official award website.
Following the deadline, first-round results are scheduled for release in August, after which finalists will undergo a final judging session.
The original physical artworks of finalists will be reviewed by an expert panel to determine the ultimate winners.
