MassChallenge Switzerland has officially opened applications for its 2026 Early-stage Accelerator, a premier program designed to help international startups scale their businesses.

Since its inception in 2016, the accelerator has supported over 1,100 startups that have collectively raised more than $2.9 billion in funding.

The 2026 program is specifically looking for “impactful” startups whose technologies or products have the potential to drive economic growth and transform society.

By design, the accelerator prioritizes businesses that are sustainable for both the climate and nature, requiring applicants to demonstrate how they add value to society.

Participating startups are not required to give up any equity to join the four-month intensive program.

Instead, the initiative focuses on connecting founders with a massive network of global corporate partners and mentors to validate their approach and gain market traction.

Funding and benefits

Successful applicants can compete for up to CHF 1 million (approximately $1,264,678) in non-dilutive cash prizes and various in-kind awards.

Additionally, food and climate-focused startups are eligible for a separate CHF 100,000 ($126,467) “no-strings-attached” prize provided by the Louis Dreyfus Company.

Beyond direct funding, the program offers unrivaled access to 15+ global corporate partners, including giants like Nestlé, Mars, and PMI.

Founders receive world-class mentoring from a pool of 400 experts and a comprehensive curriculum featuring over 50 leading VCs and entrepreneurs.

The accelerator also provides specific guidance on navigating Swiss and European regulations and taxes.

This proven model has historically helped more than 65% of finalists raise additional funds during or immediately after the program.

Application requirements and eligibility

The 2026 call is open to early-stage startups from any industry and any geography.

Eligible founders should generally have less than CHF 2 million in capital raised and less than CHF 2 million in annual sales.

While much of the program is conducted online, startups must travel to Switzerland twice for in-person boot camps and halftime activities.

These physical events are essential for building deep connections with the program’s partners and investors.

Startups do not need to be incorporated to apply, provided they can demonstrate traction and financial sustainability.

The selection committee also maintains a strong commitment to diversity, with specialized initiatives to support mixed and gender-balanced teams.

Deadline

The application window for the 2026 Early-stage Accelerator officially opens on January 14 and will remain active for several weeks.

All interested entrepreneurs must submit their final proposals through the MassChallenge portal by the March 4, 2026, deadline.
