The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has launched a strategic call for interest to build a specialized Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Consultants Roster.

This initiative aims to establish a pre-vetted pool of experts who can be rapidly mobilized for both short-term and long-term assignments.

Selected experts will play a crucial role in strengthening results-based management and accountability within IFAD-funded investment projects.

Their work will involve designing M&E systems, tracking project performance, and ensuring rigorous results reporting.

The geographic reach of this call spans 22 nations. By building this roster, IFAD aims to facilitate immediate access to specialized regional expertise for its various country teams.

Benefits

The program offers temporary consultancy roles that are typically home-based, though assignments often require travel for field missions and engagement with national stakeholders.

Consultants hired through this roster can work up to 240 days per calendar year, following standard United Nations consultancy regulations.

These positions provide a unique opportunity to collaborate with IFAD country directors and technical staff on impactful development programs.

Application requirements

Prospective candidates must hold a master’s degree in fields such as economics, statistics, or agriculture from an accredited institution. Those with a bachelor’s degree may also be considered if they possess significant additional relevant experience.

Applicants are required to have at least five years of experience in M&E for development projects, particularly in data collection and results-based management.

Proficiency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of French or Portuguese is considered a strong asset for certain assignments.

The selection process is competitive and involves an initial screening followed by a written technical assessment.

Shortlisted individuals may also be invited to an interview to further evaluate their technical skills and professional background.

Deadline

Interested specialists who are nationals of IFAD member states must submit their expressions of interest through the official application channels. All applications must be received no later than February 4, 2026. Click here to apply. Explore more global calls on our Opportunities page
