Culture Moves Europe has officially opened its 2025-2026 call for individual mobility, offering artists and cultural professionals a unique opportunity to work across borders.
This initiative targets individuals active in sectors such as architecture, cultural heritage, design, music, literature, and the performing or visual arts.
Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally reside in a Creative Europe country. The program is inclusive of all experience levels and accepts applications from both solo artists and groups of up to five people.
Funding and benefits
Successful applicants will receive a daily allowance of €85 to cover expenses during the implementation of their project. Additionally, the grant provides a travel allowance of either €400 or €800, depending on the distance between the applicant’s home and their destination.
The program offers several “top-ups” to ensure financial support is tailored to individual needs, including €400 for green mobility and €200 per child for families.
Participants may also receive extra funding for visa fees or for traveling from overseas territories and outermost regions.
For those with disabilities, the grant provides accessibility support, offering €30 per day for project implementation. This can also include coverage for the actual costs of personal assistance or sign language interpretation.
Application requirement
- To qualify, applicants must present a single artistic or cultural project to be executed in another Creative Europe country with the support of an international partner. This partner, which can be an individual or an organization, must collaborate with the artist throughout the project.
- The proposed project must be designed to meet at least two of four core objectives: to learn, to create, to explore, or to connect. This framework ensures that the mobility contributes to the professional development of the artist and the broader cultural field.
- Applicants are required to submit several supporting documents, including a national ID, proof of residency, and a short CV. Additionally, they must provide an artistic portfolio and a formal letter of invitation from their chosen international partner.
- The application process is handled through the Goethe-Application Portal, where candidates must register as individuals to complete the form.
- All applications must be submitted in English, though language proficiency is not a factor in the evaluation process.
Deadline
The call for individual mobility operates on a rolling basis, continuing from January through April 2026. After each monthly cutoff, eligible applications undergo a rigorous evaluation by independent experts and a final jury.
Applicants can expect to receive the results of their submission via the application portal within eight weeks of the monthly deadline. This rolling schedule allows professionals to plan their international collaborations with a clear understanding of when funding decisions will be finalized.
