The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is inviting applications for new analytical technologies with the potential to transform global vaccine development.

The funding call targets innovators whose tools can speed up vaccine research, improve accuracy and strengthen global readiness for future health emergencies.

Focus and aim

This initiative supports solutions that can accelerate the vaccine development timeline, from early research to final rollout. CEPI is particularly interested in technologies that:

  • Reduce bottlenecks in vaccine testing and regulatory processes

  • Improve decision-making during outbreaks and pandemics

  • Strengthen the global effort to deliver safe vaccines within 100 days of detecting a new pathogen

The overall aim is to develop analytical tools that enhance speed, reliability, and affordability across the vaccine ecosystem.

Benefits

Selected innovators will receive financial support to advance, test and validate their technologies.

The funding is intended to reduce research and production costs, helping make vaccines more affordable—especially for low- and middle-income countries. Awardees will also gain:

  • Visibility within the global health community.

  • Access to CEPI networks and technical expertise.

  • Opportunities for collaboration with international vaccine partners.

Eligibility

CEPI encourages submissions from a wide range of actors involved in vaccine development and analysis, including:

  • Research groups and independent scientists.

  • Biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

  • Universities and specialised institutions.

  • Developers working on RNA, viral-vector or protein-based vaccines.

  • Technology innovators with scalable manufacturing solutions.

Applicants must present feasible, impactful solutions relevant to modern vaccine platforms.

Application requirements

Proposals must clearly outline how the technology will:

  • Accelerate vaccine assessment or release.

  • Improve vaccine characterisation or analytics.

  • Reduce development or manufacturing costs.

  • Scale effectively across different regions or production systems.

Applications that include supporting data, prototypes or preliminary results will be especially competitive.

Deadline

Interested applicants should visit the CEPI website for guidelines on how to apply. Submissions end on December 31, 2025
