The Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) is inviting organisations working to advance women’s rights and combat gender-based violence (GBV) across Nigeria to apply for its 2026 grant call.

This year’s call prioritises strengthening institutions, amplifying women’s voices and supporting practical, community-rooted interventions that drive lasting impact.

Aim

The grant seeks to reinforce the capacity of women-led and women-focused organisations committed to ending GBV and expanding women’s leadership. It encourages initiatives that challenge harmful social norms, support survivors and build stronger frameworks for advancing women’s rights.

Eligible activities include advocacy, capacity development, public awareness campaigns, community mobilisation and institutional strengthening.

Benefits

Selected organisations will receive financial support to implement a four-month project between January and April 2026.

Although short-term, the grant provides room for focused, measurable interventions capable of sparking long-term change. It also offers organisations the opportunity to strengthen internal systems, improve coordination, and expand their reach—particularly within underserved communities.

Eligibility

The call is open to Nigerian organisations with a demonstrated track record in gender equality and community engagement. Applicants must be:

  • Local NGOs or community-based organisations.

  • Operational for at least two years.

  • Equipped with functional administrative and financial systems.

  • Able to demonstrate qualified human resources.

  • Focused on women-led or women-centred work.

  • Actively serving marginalised, underserved or hard-to-reach groups.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a complete proposal using NWTF’s official templates available here. Proposals should clearly outline objectives, target communities and expected outcomes.

Organisations are encouraged to present achievable, context-specific interventions aligned with NWTF’s mission of advancing inclusion, equity and justice for women. A strong emphasis is placed on measurable impact and realistic timelines.

Deadline

Submission of proposals is due on December 12, 2025.
