The AXA Research Fund has opened the 2026 call for proposals under the AXA–Swiss Re Risk Resilience Partnership, seeking research projects that advance personalized, science-driven approaches to improving metabolic health.
The call targets bold, practical ideas that can strengthen public health, guide insurers, and improve long-term outcomes for individuals at risk of conditions such as obesity, diabetes and metabolic disorders.
Aim
The programme supports research that uses genomics, metabolomics, and behavioural science to explore why different interventions work for different people.
It encourages studies that identify predictors—such as biomarkers, metabolic profiles, or behavioural traits—that shape how individuals respond to lifestyle programmes, digital tools, bariatric surgery or GLP-1 medications.
Funding details
Selected projects will receive up to $150,000 for a research period ranging from 9 to 18 months.
Funding may cover researcher salaries, equipment, collaborations, academic activities and outreach.
Researchers also gain global visibility within a network dedicated to advancing metabolic health and contribute to evidence that can improve public health, insurance models and individual well-being.

The call is open to accredited academic and research institutions worldwide, applying individually or as part of a consortium.

Successful applicants are expected to deliver mid-term and final reports and share their findings through scientific communication.
