One Young World is inviting applications for the NewNow Emerging Young Leaders Programme, a global initiative that identifies and supports exceptional young leaders from the Global South.
The programme seeks to nurture a new generation of changemakers who can think systemically, act collectively, and drive positive transformation within their communities and beyond.
Focus
The NewNow programme is grounded in the belief that sustainable change begins with collective action.
It brings together bold young thinkers making a real impact across diverse sectors, including education, health, climate, human rights and innovation.
Through collaboration and shared learning, participants will gain the tools to tackle deep-rooted global challenges and inspire others to act.
Funding details
A total of ten participants will be selected to receive a fully funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Cape Town in 2026.
In addition, participants will gain lifelong membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community and access to the Global Leadership Programme and Action Accelerator.
They will also benefit from visibility across One Young World and Virgin Unite platforms, expanding their reach and influence globally.
Who can apply
The programme is open to young leaders who:
● Are between 18 and 30 years old.
● Are nationals of countries in the Global South.
● Have a proven record of leadership through impactful projects or advocacy.
● Demonstrate systems thinking and a clear vision for long-term change.
● Are committed to collaboration within the NewNow community and beyond.
Requirements
Interested candidates must complete the online application form available on the One Young World website.
Applicants are encouraged to provide details of their leadership experiences, measurable impact and goals for future collaboration.
The selection process will focus on innovation, inclusiveness and demonstrated community impact.
