The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund supports grassroots organisations that use sports to expand access to quality education for children in underserved communities.

The fund provides financial assistance to community-based initiatives that blend education and sports to create long-term social impact.

Purpose of the fund

The fund aims to empower organisations that promote inclusive education and sports development. It seeks to strengthen equitable and community-centred education systems, particularly in regions where children face barriers to learning and participation in sports.

Funding details

  • Grants range from $50,000 to $250,000 for selected applicants.

  • Funding is intended to help scale impactful programmes and strengthen work with children and youth.

  • Beneficiaries will gain international visibility, access to networking opportunities, and potential partnerships with global stakeholders.

Organisations selected will receive funding ahead of the 2026 World Cup cycle and join a global network of changemakers. Recipients are expected to submit mid-term and final progress reports.

The initiative leverages the global appeal of football to drive positive change in education and child development, supporting organisations that help children learn, play and grow with dignity.

The fund is open to:

  • Legally registered non-profit organisations in their country of operation.

  • Community-based grassroots organisations serving between 500 and 10,000 individuals.

  • Organisations with at least three years of financial stability.
