The 2026 Free Electrons Programme is dedicated to supporting developers working on open-source embedded Linux projects. It provides essential training, mentorship and resources to help developers advance their work and strengthen innovation within the global embedded Linux community.

Overview

Benefits

Selected participants will receive funding of up to €8,000 per project to support their embedded Linux development work. Participants will gain hands-on experience, enhance their technical skills and expand their professional networks within the open-source ecosystem.

Eligibility

Applications are open to:

  • Embedded Linux developers with experience in open-source software

  • Developers passionate about embedded systems and open-source technologies

  • Individuals committed to contributing to the embedded Linux ecosystem

Application requirements

Selection process
