Africa No Filter and Meta have teamed up to launch a new grant called “Future Africa: Telling Stories, Building Worlds”. The initiative is designed to support creators who are using immersive technologies like virtual and augmented reality to tell new and compelling stories about Africa.
The programme aims to foster a community of creators who can push the boundaries of digital storytelling.
Funding
Successful applicants will receive grants of up to $30,000 for each selected project. In addition, participants will also benefit from mentorship provided by industry leaders Electric South and Imisi 3D, as well as opportunities to network with other XR creators.
Who can apply
This opportunity is open to creators based in select African countries with a background in a creative field. Ideal candidates should:
- Be a national of and be living in one of these countries: Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, or South Africa.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a strong portfolio or a track record of work in a creative or artistic field.

To apply for the grant, creators must submit proposals detailing their creative vision and how it aligns with the programme’s goals.
