CIFAR is calling on early-career researchers worldwide to apply for its Global Scholars Programme—an initiative designed to unite promising academics who are asking bold, fundamental questions about science and humanity.
The programme provides a platform for scholars to step outside disciplinary silos, collaborate across fields and engage with senior researchers on some of today’s most pressing global challenges.
Programme benefits
The programme aims to accelerate the careers of emerging researchers by connecting them to an international, interdisciplinary network. For a two-year term, successful applicants will:

Join a CIFAR research programme and collaborate with world-leading experts.

Receive mentorship from senior scholars.

Gain leadership and communication training.

Access CAD $100,000 in unrestricted research support to advance their work.
Eligibility
Applicants must:

Hold a PhD (or equivalent degree).
-
Be within the first five years of their first full-time academic appointment.
-
Demonstrate research interests that align with one of CIFAR’s interdisciplinary programmes.
Application focus
Candidates should emphasise how their expertise complements the goals of an eligible CIFAR research programme and how they would thrive in its collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.
