Submissions are now open for the Brussels International Animation Film Festival (Anima), which celebrates animated films from around the world and fosters exchange among filmmakers, professionals, and audiences

Films completed after June 2024 are eligible for submission in the following categories:

  • Feature Films
  • Feature Films for Children
  • International Professional Short Films
  • International Student Films
  • International Short Films for a Young Audience
  • National Short Films

Who can apply?

  • Open to all animated films completed within 18 months of the Festival’s start date, regardless of origin, format, or technique.
  • Submissions must include a completed online entry form and high-resolution photos of the film (JPEG, 300 dpi).
  • If selected, producers/directors must provide a list of dialogues and subtitles in French, Dutch, or English as separate files.
  • Original-language films are accepted, except for those targeting young audiences, which should preferably be in French and/or Dutch.
  • Films must align with the definition of animation as outlined by the International Animated Film Association.
  • Mixed-media works combining animation with live-action elements are also welcome
